SELECTIVE DEMOLITION                                             32 Hours

The pre-requisites required to enroll in this course are the 10 hour OSHA, CPR & First Aid certification and a Burning license issued by the New York City Fire Department.    The classroom portion of Selective Demolition is comprised of the following topics covered; Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, Environmental Hazard Awareness (Asbestos, Lead, Silica, etc.), Hoisting & Rigging, Fall Protection, Scaffold User and Hand & Power Tools (maintenance, use and caring of tools).  The hands-on portion provides opportunity for each student to work on the practical application of hand & power tools as they pertain to Selection Demolition.  The tools used for hands-on are; de-nailers, grinders, saws, screw guns, reciprocating saws, drills, etc.
